Unrealized Dreams

When I was a kid I wished I’d become so many things when I grow up. At an early age I wished I’d become a nurse. I enjoyed playing with my medical bag toy. Lots of relatives, friends, and neighbors were injected by baby Flam. I don’t want to tell you where, you should know that since I am too shy to say it.

As the years went by, I developed other wishes like becoming an astronaut. The sad thing is that I am now none of what I wished to be.

So did you have dreams? What was your dream occupation when you were a kid? Are you now what you wanted to be?

I always wanted to become a scientist. I have always dreamed on investing the ultimate anti-gravity machine. My room was a living lab, filled with wires, glass beakers, acids, gold coins (yeah I experiemented with those shshshs) heavy duty batteries and mail order items. I was a teenager reading popular science and popular mechanic LOL

Then I wanted to become an archeaologist, the Arabian version of Indiana Jones haha. Everything from Atlantis to the Mayan temples caught my attention, and made me read about it. I even had plotted the star constellation over the pyramids at the age of 13 and theorized that a hidden chamber should exist in Khufu. I actually worked on proving this theory will archeoastronomists at college, but to no avail.I ended up editing a book regarding the alignment of mecca to the stars, which is incorrect.

Then I moved to architecture, which to this day is one of my favorite interests. Now it includes interior and graphic design. None of which I took as a proffession, but practice them anyways.

Then I wanted to be a chef, and undertook all sorts of experimentation with cooking styles and cuisines. It had cost me majorly at the beggining hehe.

Now I manage to incorporate architecture, interior design, graphic design, and cookery in my job along with financial management. Yeah my major was FInance. :)

FYI: 90% of graduates find themselves working a job other than their major intended. Any engineers working in a bank? :p

When I was young I wanted to be a teacher, then in high school a biologist. In college I wanted to work in PR, but since the PR business is limited in kuwait I moved to a similar field within the communication sector.

It's amazing how you switched from different fields through out your life. you are multi-talented mashallah and it's good that you're making use of them all.
maybe you should tell us more about your theories about Khufu and mecca, that would be interesting :)
"working a job other than their major intended" TELL me about it! I'm the perfect example.

3baid
LOL!

A3sab
Well at least you ended up with a similar field :)

Oh :( I can understand cos I hate my job too. I tried both jobs with interaction and facing the screen. It gets lonely facing the screen but I prefer it more cos you wouldn't know what different kinds of people you end up dealing with.
why not consider being a chef since you like it. wouldn't taking training courses do?

#1 My theory on Khufu Pyramid: It is known that the pyramids were built following star constellations. Most archeological sites had a relation to the heavens. According to the star formation I say which apeared exactly above the pyramid on July 10, 1992 there was a star that does not resemble the angles nor the tombs found in the pyramid. It is a third star indicating a room which appears at the very top. It is in exactly the same position of the eye in the pyramid on the note of the US dollar. A masonic symbol, derived from the ancient world. As of today, no one has discovered such a room. the Egyptians represented Osiris, their chief deity, by the symbol of an open eye, and placed this hieroglyphic of him in all their temples.I beleive this room is dedicated to Osiris. Then again its just a theory.

As for my editing of the book, it was claiming that Mecca was in perfect alignment to God, which we know it is not true, so I had to give the right info and its begginings with Ibrahim (PBUH).

Plastic Surgoen! interesting
you and samboose and equalizer should get together!

Equalizer
I didn't know pyramids were built according to stars! interesting! I think you should speak out your theory!!

Mecca IS in alighnment with God. the qibla is "emtidad for 3arsh el ra7man" besides being the center of the world. I will look for a source to show you.

Equalizer said...

Flamy: I think my theory should be spoken out by a proper Egyptologist.

As for Mecca, I have never heard of such thing, and if there is such thing, I'd rather base that on a verse from Alquraan. When I say alignment, I mean directly in that position. Scientifically incorrect, since the earth revolves and has no specific fixed position in the sky.

I think I always envied those people who knew exactly what they wanted to be when they grown up and go for it at college and in their jobs.
I wanted to do so many things and ended up in very different positions.
It just goes to show you that life is full of exciting turns. You never know where you will end up next :)

I wanted to be an artist and an architect. I'm not doing any of them simple because I was always scared I'm not creative or not good enough. I still think that, but I'm slowly picking up art as a hobby.

But as a child I also went thru the phases of wanting to be a teacher, an astronaut...
and well sometimes I still have thoughts of becoming a nanny ( i love kids :P), and a rockstar! LOL!
